Terms and Conditions

The rules of how we work, written plainly.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you" or "your") and Suds Buds Laundry LLC ("Suds Buds," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of:

  • our website at https://sudsbuds.com;
  • the Suds Buds mobile application (the "App");
  • our laundromat located at 540 E 14th Street, New York, NY 10009 (the "Store"); and
  • our pickup, delivery, and wash-and-fold laundry services

(together, the "Services").

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account, placing an order, visiting the Store, or otherwise accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Sections 12 and 13 limit our liability to you. Section 16 explains where disputes are resolved.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

2. The Services

Suds Buds operates a laundromat at 540 E 14th Street, New York, NY 10009, offering self-service machines, in-store wash-and-fold, and pickup-and-delivery laundry. Through our website and App, you can:

  • schedule and manage pickup and delivery orders;
  • place wash-and-fold orders;
  • view pricing and turnaround times for our services; and
  • manage your account and order history.

We may add, modify, or discontinue any feature of the Services at any time, with or without notice.

3. Accounts

To use certain features — including online ordering and pickup-and-delivery — you must register an account. You agree to:

  • provide accurate, current, and complete information and keep it up to date;
  • safeguard your password and any access credentials;
  • accept responsibility for all activity under your account; and
  • notify us promptly at sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information, that we reasonably believe have been compromised, or that we believe are being used in violation of these Terms.

4. Pickup and Delivery

Pickup and delivery is offered within our designated service area (see our website for current coverage). When you schedule a pickup or delivery, you agree to:

  • provide an accurate address and any access instructions (apartment number, doorman, building code, gate code);
  • have your laundry ready and accessible at the start of the scheduled pickup window, in a bag or container suitable for transport;
  • be available to receive your delivery during the scheduled window, or designate a safe handoff location (such as a doorman, building lobby, or trusted neighbor);
  • separate items requiring special handling and clearly identify them; and
  • remove any items from pockets and any items not intended for laundering.

If we cannot complete a pickup or delivery because of inaccurate information, missed windows, an inaccessible location, or your unavailability, we may charge a missed-attempt or rescheduling fee as posted on our website. Once your items are returned to your designated address or handoff location, our custody and responsibility for the items ends.

5. Lost or Damaged Items

We treat your laundry with care, but in rare cases items may be lost or damaged. To be eligible for any reimbursement, you must report the issue to us in writing (email to sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com or in person at the Store) within twenty-four (24) hours of the order being marked complete, picked up, or delivered to you, whichever is earliest. Reports made after that 24-hour window are not eligible for reimbursement.

Where we are responsible for a lost or damaged item, our maximum reimbursement is ten percent (10%) of the documented retail value of the item. You may be required to provide reasonable proof of value, such as a receipt or a comparable current retail listing. Reimbursement is typically issued as a credit toward future Suds Buds services, at our discretion.

We are not responsible for, and do not provide reimbursement for:

  • items left in pockets (cash, jewelry, electronics, keys, cards, documents, or any other property);
  • pre-existing damage, stains, wear, weakness, or defects in fabric or construction;
  • items not suitable for standard laundering, including items labeled dry-clean only, leather, suede, fur, items with embellishments or beading, items with non-colorfast dyes, and items without care labels;
  • shrinkage or color change in items not pre-shrunk or colorfast as manufactured;
  • specialty, designer, vintage, irreplaceable, or sentimental items submitted without prior written disclosure to us;
  • items lost or damaged because you did not follow our care or handoff instructions; and
  • delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

By giving us your laundry, you represent that the items are suitable for standard washing and drying unless you have informed us otherwise in writing in advance.

6. SMS Order Notifications

When you provide your mobile number through our website, App, or at the Store and place an order or create an account, you consent to receive transactional text messages from Suds Buds at the number provided. These messages relate solely to your orders and account, and may include:

  • order confirmations and receipts;
  • pickup and delivery status updates ("driver on the way," "your order has been picked up," "your laundry is ready");
  • account or eligibility notices; and
  • responses to messages you send us.

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages through this program.

Message frequency varies based on your order activity; you will typically receive several messages per order.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan. Suds Buds is not responsible for charges from your carrier.

Opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message, or by contacting us at sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com. After you opt out, you will receive a confirmation message and we will stop sending you SMS notifications. You can still receive order updates by email or through the App.

Help. Reply HELP to any message or email sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com.

Carriers. This program is supported on most major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy. We do not share your mobile number or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • attempt to access any portion of the Services, related systems, or other users' accounts without authorization;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Services;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from any portion of the Services or App, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
  • use bots, scrapers, scripts, or any automated means to interact with the Services;
  • submit false, misleading, or impersonating information; or
  • harass, threaten, or abuse our staff, drivers, contractors, or other customers, whether in person, by phone, or through the Services.

8. Intellectual Property

The Services and all content on them — including text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, and software — are owned by Suds Buds Laundry LLC or its licensors and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Services for their intended personal, non-commercial purposes. No other rights are granted, and you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works of any content on the Services without our prior written permission.

9. User Submissions

If you submit content to the Services — for example, photos uploaded for stained-item identification, support inquiries, reviews, or feedback ("Submissions") — you grant Suds Buds Laundry LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, and display those Submissions to operate, improve, and promote the Services. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your Submissions do not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law. We are not obligated to review, monitor, or retain Submissions and may remove or refuse to display any Submission at our discretion.

Copyright complaints. If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) to sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com that includes: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work; (c) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location on the Services; (d) your contact information; (e) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized; and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the rights holder.

10. Orders, Payment, and Refunds

Prices for our services are stated on the Services, in the App, and at the Store, and may change at any time. By placing an order, you authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge your selected payment method for the total order amount, including taxes, delivery fees, and any other applicable fees. All payments are processed by a third-party payment processor (currently Stripe); we do not store full payment-card numbers on our systems.

Cancellation, missed-pickup, rescheduling, and refund policies are posted on our website and at the Store and are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Reimbursement for lost or damaged items is governed exclusively by Section 5.

11. Third-Party Services

The Services integrate with third-party services, currently including Twilio (SMS), Resend (email), Stripe (payments), and CleanCloud (order management). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of any third party.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM US OR THROUGH THE SERVICES CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SUDS BUDS LAUNDRY LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, DRIVERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR (B) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. CLAIMS FOR LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS ARE GOVERNED EXCLUSIVELY BY SECTION 5.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so portions of Sections 12 and 13 may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Suds Buds Laundry LLC and its officers, members, employees, drivers, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to (a) your use or misuse of the Services, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your Submissions, or (d) your violation of any law or any third-party right.

15. Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. You may stop using the Services at any time. On termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately, but Sections 5, 8, 9, and 12–18 (and any other provisions that by their nature should survive) will survive.

16. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The federal and state courts located in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Services or by email. Material changes will become effective no earlier than the date we post the revised Terms. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services.

18. General Provisions

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any policies referenced on the Services, are the entire agreement between you and Suds Buds about the Services and supersede any prior agreements.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction. Any attempted assignment in violation of this section is void.

Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, utility or telecommunications failures, pandemics, supply-chain disruptions, or governmental actions.

Electronic communications. You consent to receive communications from us electronically (via email, SMS where you have opted in, App notifications, or postings within the Services), and you agree that all agreements, notices, and disclosures provided electronically satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing.

Notices to us must be sent to Suds Buds Laundry LLC, 540 E 14th Street, New York, NY 10009, or sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com. Notices to you may be sent to the email address or phone number associated with your account, or posted within the Services.
