Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and what we do with it.
Effective Date: April 26, 2026 Last Updated: May 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Suds Buds Laundry LLC ("Suds Buds," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our website at https://sudsbuds.com, use the Suds Buds mobile application (the "App"), visit our laundromat at 540 E 14th Street, New York, NY 10009 (the "Store"), or use our pickup, delivery, and wash-and-fold services (together, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms and Conditions. By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: (a) information you give us, (b) information we collect automatically when you use the Services, and (c) information we receive from third parties.
A. Information You Provide
When you create an account, place an order, contact customer support, or interact with us at the Store, we may collect:
- Identity and contact information: name, email address, mobile phone number.
- Delivery information: pickup and drop-off addresses, building access details (apartment number, doorman, gate or building codes), and handoff instructions.
- Payment information: payment-card details and billing address. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our servers; payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe).
- Service preferences: detergent and fabric-softener choices, folding and packaging preferences, hangers vs. folded, special-handling notes, and your communication preferences.
- Photos and Submissions: photos of stained or specialty items you upload, messages you send us, and reviews or feedback you submit.
- Account credentials: username and password (stored in encrypted form).
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the website or App, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device information: hardware model, operating system, unique device identifiers (such as IDFA on iOS or Android Advertising ID), mobile network, and language preferences.
- Usage information: pages or screens you view, features you use, links you click, dates and times of access, the URL that referred you, and similar activity data.
- Approximate location based on IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5.
C. Mobile App Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions to deliver specific features. You can grant or revoke permissions in your device settings at any time:
- Precise location — to confirm your address is within our service area and to support pickup and delivery logistics.
- Camera and photo library — to let you upload photos of stained items, special-care items, or for customer support.
- Push notifications — to send order-status updates ("driver on the way," "ready for pickup," and similar).
D. Information From Third Parties
We may receive information about you from our service providers (for example, our payment processor confirming a successful charge) and, where you choose to sign in or share information through a third-party platform, from that platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including processing orders and coordinating pickup and delivery;
- create and manage your account;
- process payments and refunds;
- communicate with you about orders, account matters, customer support, and changes to the Services or our policies;
- send transactional SMS notifications about your order when you have provided your mobile number (see Section 4);
- send you marketing emails about promotions and updates where permitted — you can opt out at any time (see Section 6);
- improve, personalize, and develop the Services, including understanding which features are used most;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other illegal or unauthorized activity; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described in this Section.
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services for us under contract and only as needed to perform those services. Our current service providers include:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Twilio — SMS delivery
- Resend — transactional and marketing email
- CleanCloud — order and laundry-operations management
- Delivery personnel. Our drivers (whether employees or third-party logistics partners) receive the address, phone number, and order details necessary to complete your pickup and delivery.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with applicable law, a subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Suds Buds, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (for example, by email or a notice on our website) of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
- With your consent. We may share information with your consent or at your direction.
4. SMS and Mobile Information
When you opt in to SMS order notifications, we collect your mobile number and your consent. We do not share your mobile number, SMS opt-in data, or consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Information you submit as part of the SMS program — your number and any messages you send us — is used only to operate the program: to send transactional order updates and to respond to your messages. We share this information only with Twilio (our SMS delivery vendor) and any successor SMS vendor we engage to operate the program. See our Terms and Conditions for the full SMS program disclosures, including message frequency, opt-out, and HELP instructions.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to:
- keep you signed in and secure your session;
- remember your preferences (such as language and saved addresses); and
- understand how the Services are used so we can improve them.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may impair some features of the Services. The App does not use browser cookies but uses similar device identifiers that you can manage in your device settings.
6. Marketing Communications
If you have opted in, we may send you marketing emails about promotions, new services, or company updates. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by:
- clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email; or
- emailing sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com with the subject line "Unsubscribe."
Even if you opt out of marketing, we will continue to send transactional messages relating to your account or orders. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:
- Account information — while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to handle post-closure obligations.
- Order and transaction records — as required by tax, accounting, and other legal obligations (typically up to seven years).
- Marketing preferences and opt-outs — indefinitely, so we can honor your choices.
- Support communications — as long as needed to resolve the matter and for reasonable record-keeping afterward.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure, in accordance with the New York SHIELD Act and other applicable laws. Examples include encryption of data in transit, access controls, limited employee access, and contractual safeguards with our service providers.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
You have the following choices and rights regarding your personal information:
-

We will verify your identity and process your request within a reasonable time. Some information may be retained as described in Section 7 (for example, for tax or legal compliance).
-
Opt out of marketing emails as described in Section 6.
-
Opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any text message.
-
Manage device permissions (location, camera, notifications) in your device settings.
For California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, and other state residents: depending on your state, you may have additional rights, including the right to (a) confirm whether we process your personal information and request access to it, (b) correct inaccurate information, (c) request deletion, (d) opt out of "sales" or "sharing" for targeted advertising — note that we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and (e) be free from retaliation for exercising your rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com. We will verify your identity before responding and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at sudsbuds@sudsbuds.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
11. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not operate. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or services. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
12. International Users
The Services are operated in the United States and intended for users located in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Services or by email. Your continued use of the Services after the revised policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of it.
